Crowdfunding Corner – 13th June 2017

Crowdfunding Corner – 13th June 2017:

June 13, 2017 - Oliver East -

Welcome to Crowdfunding Corner. This time around we have three interesting looking board games to highlight from Kickstarter. These represent projects which have personally got me interested and from the backer numbers, and pledge totals, a lot of others too!

Archmage

Archmage is a strategy board game where you build and lead an order of mages towards your epic destiny of becoming Archmage, a wizard that weaves all six spheres of magic into one.

Sitting at over 130% fully funded Archmage is going to be a reality but with your help the game could come with some shiny stretch goals too! There is a standard and a deluxe version available through the Kickstarter campaign, both offering a rather vibrant visual experience. Check out the Kickstarter campaign here, and a how-to video below.

Zombicide: Green Horde

The medieval fantasy Zombicide saga continues with a horde of undead orcs, new environment features, resources and challenges!

This Kickstarter campaign has gone from strength to strength and has just unlocked yet another stretch goal. Sitting at a current pledge total of $2.75 million, the Orcs and Goblins have been joined by many new survivors and abominations. References include but are not limited to characters from Stranger Things, tributes to the likes of Prince and a Monty Python inspired monster. Check out the Kickstarter campaign here, and a how-to video below.

Lords of Hellas

Fresh miniature territory control game with adventure elements from creators of This War of Mine: The Board Game

You can never have too many awesome miniatures! It certainly seems that this will have to be your mentality if you end up backing both Green Horde and Lords of Hellas. This board game aims to offer gamers a “fast-paced territory control game with adventure elements for 1-4 players”. Awaken Realms came to Kickstarter looking for £50,000 and has to date seen over £800,000 pledged for its cause. Check out the Kickstarter campaign here, and a storyline trailer below.
